Hi, Greg!

The kind words were much deserved. My "snail mail" is below, but I'd be happy to pay for it!

And, thanks in advance!

Hi, Gregory! Lovin' B Minority! Here's a testimonial for you: Yous is one of the few pages to which I turn just to listen to a song from time to time. Not to evaluate a song. Not to see what others are doing. Not to keep up. Just to listen.

I hope you will consider putting out a recording. I'd buy it. Maybe you already have? I'll go back and check on guitarsoffire.com.

Best,

Alan

Great comments, Gregory! I guess I must be doing it right...'cause all too frequently I feel like a rank beginner. I have friends -- non-guitar players and guitar plauers alike -- who insist that I'm really good, and I have to admit that I'm surprised every time they tell me that. Not trying to be immodest, just to remark that, I suspect, a guitarist's relationship and interaction with his guitar are always complicated.

I guess that's true of all things. You're either sitting in comfortable, old hat territory, or you're trying to grow in your skills. Growth is, by definition, always difficult, always a little painful, always humbling, when you're diong it. And always hugely rewarding when you look back on it!

Oof! Apologies for all the typos. Here it is again...cleaned up:

Nice! Wish I could have been there! You have to be twice the guitarist I am, so it's just great fun and educational to watch as well as listen to real guitar talent! I'm glad you had such a great experience with the soundboard. However, someone on the OFC said, "a great guitarist could make a 2x4 sound good." I suspect you are that great guitarist!

Can't wait for the next song! You're inspiring me to try to make some more of my own, and to try -- just maybe -- to find someone else with whom to put something together! However, as you might have guessed, players of the improv/free jazz type are hard to rustle up!

Hi, Gregory! I'd LOVE to go to one of your shows! Wall-to-wall delightful! Thanks for your nice comments about my song. I'd just discovered the joys of freeware sound recording software! No changes to the sound, but mixing! Mixing is FUN! To answer your question: the sound came from a $50 Crate amp that has some effects. Kinda fun. As regards the thin sound from your Legend...I'm thinking it's the amp. However, I don't know enough to speak intelligently about it. I'd drop THAT question in front of the OFC, and you KNOW you would get about 6 really helpful relies and about 6 really sarcastic, cutting replies -- all from the same three people! However, you WOULD get your answer.

Dob, beautiful tune. The guitar sounds great, but I really couldn't hear the bass that much, you were mostly in the mids and highs (wish I could play there and sound that good -- hell, wish I could play anywhere on the neck and sound even half that good!).

Your 1117 sounds wonderful, but it's the first VT braced guitar that I've ever heard that does sound that good.

How does the 1117 compare to the ADII?

Now I have some "pimping" to do on this page. I see that there are some pretty cool things you can do!
