Hey Brad, it's coming soon...and they are all in there you ca bet! Hey I can't seem to get any more than 100 pic's at a time in a slideshow...maybe that's how its set up...?
Thanks BB! Great input. Congas. I thought about the whammy but there is none on the Viper. I tried to to do Miles' neck bend thing but really didn't get the sound. Still, a Viper through a tube Fender still does get the job done. :-) The surfcaster and the stratocaster both probaby are better suited for the song, but the Viper definitely go the job done.
O.k., listened to the correct song...much better! Very cool. You've certainly nailed the surf sound. Bongos or a Cajone box? Are you looking for suggestions? How about adding some reverb whispers (scratching the strings, i.e., what the Ventures added to some of their early stuff) and in some of the measures where you have a single note on the downbeat (i.e., the ending tag), add a strong but single depression of the whammy bar. Or, you can just leave it alone, which is just as well.
Thanks for checking out my page, BB. I can't wait to hear your surf song - should be a whole lot better than my little garage band recording! :-)
I struggled a bit with your comments, and I'm wondering if maybe the song your heard was not Carmelo. Carmelo is fully instrumental, ands didn't have any doubling tracking anywhere in the song. Might also be why the guitar doesn't have the full surf sound you talked about getting. Maybe the player served you up something different than Carmelo. I did feature the Viper since this was for the OFC or I would have used either the Surfcaster or the Stratocaster, both of which have d'add Chromes on them. Try going back to my page and clicking Carmelo again to make sure we're talking the same song!
Hey Prof ... nice to see you over here. There are some really cool things.
I know we've talked about surf music in the past. Especially the SoCal/OC sound we both grew up with. I sort of tried to translate that into my summer theme song called "Carmelo". You can listen to it over on my page. Good speakers or headphones are recommended and the song can use all the help it can get. But I hope you "feel" it.
