Alan, I forgot to acknowledge your new Taylor! Send me some photos. I want to see her! I don't care what anyone says; I LIKE (very much) Taylor guitars!
Hey, Alan? How WAS my French? I remember very little from High School French, lol! I agree that it is indeed a most beautiful language, I love Spanish and Italian as well ... btw, I listened to you playing and I am very impressed! I still have to watch my hands when I play ... which is pretty awful, but I love it anyway ...
Thanks again Alan. The guitar is SO humbling, really. I think if you're doing it right, you always feel like a struggling beginner! I had a guitar teacher in High School for whom the only no-no was complaining about boredom. "How cane you be BORED," he would rail, "with a GUITAR in your hands?????"
Thanks Alan. It's interesting that a few days ago, we played in a nice club and decided to throw caution to the wind: we allowed our guitars to be plugged directly into the board and handled by the sound guy. The result was AMAZING: drums and guitar were brilliant and lucid and loud. So, I conclude that my gig-by-gig woes have to with the different rooms, the size of the crowd and, of course, the amps. We do use the Bose L1 which, in a controlled setting, has an AWESOME delivery.
Now it's back to the woodshed: I've transposed "Blue Bossa" up a whole step and am working out the "Bossa" chord movement for this cool tune. To be posted when done!
Thanks so much, Alan. I wish you could come out to see us sometime at Uncommon Ground or Katerina's: We are now playing an extended version of Vishnu's "Meeting of the Spirits"! I, too, enjoyed your "Jam in C"! How did you get that wicked sound? Here's a question: I find my old Legend delivers a thin tone through some amps. How does one "beef" up the tone?
