I believe it's not in regular tuning. Can't find anything on the 'net.

I saw him on the box not all that long ago Muzz. Live at the Basement on ABC. He played this song and I noticed he was playing some weird looking chords which led me to believe that it was not in regular tuning. I suppose that's not much help to you.

I've got that DVD. It's really good. I'd love to see him live - he's got so much energy.

Unfortunately, Guru Man Blues isn't part of the performance.

Well, I may just have to ask the man himself.

Just got tickets to see him, middle of the 5th row, right in front of the man.

And he's playing HERE... in Noosa. Amazing.

If I get the chance, I'll request Guru Man.

Muz - I pretty much have it figured out. I won't be able to post it until later tonight or tomorrow some time though.

Muzza - here it is. It's in the key of A. I figured it out with a capo on the 5th fret - it just sounds right that way. So the chords you see written are with the capo on 5.

Just had a quick listen Mike. Sounds like you nailed the essence of it. Sounds right. Do you reckon Eric plays it in an alternate tuning though, or do you think the slide bit is a second guitar?

Honestly - I wouldn't even know where to start to see if he used an alternate tuning - maybe someone who is more familiar would be able to tell by the chord pattern. It was the capo that nailed it for me though. I thought I had it figured out earlier, but I realized this morning that I had one of the chords completely wrong.

I would say almost 100% that the slide bit is a second guitar.

I must definitely like this song - I must have listened to it a couple of hundred times and I'm not sick of it!

I met the Eric after the gig, what a nice charismatic guy. He really had to think about Guru Man Blues. It isn't one of his 'hits', so he hasn't played it for a while.

All he could tell me is that it is in A, and possibly using dropped D, but that doesn't fit... The slide guitar wasn't played by him. That's the part that makes the song for me.

Thanks for your help Mike. I think you've got it as close as I could hope for. Good effort.
